Meet the Retail Rebel
I’m Stine Grubbe — a Danish visual merchandising expert, retail strategist and educator.
For years, I’ve worked with retailers across Denmark — advising, teaching and challenging how stores are built, styled and run.
I’m frequently invited as a keynote speaker and quoted in the media as a retail and consumer-trends expert.
Not because I decorate. But because I understand how customers think, move and decide. And how you can use that knowledge, in your shop.
Visual merchandising is not a vibe, nor a creative hobby.
It’s a skill and a strategy.
My work is grounded in research-based customer psychology, behaviour and commercial logic — not trends, gut feeling or guesswork.
From pretty to pro
I don’t do “just one more thing in the window.”
I don’t do decoration without direction.
And I don’t do pretty for the sake of pretty.
Retail Rebel is for those who want clarity, confidence and results.
If you want your store to work harder than you do, you’re at the right place.
I am also married to Jacob, mother to Sofie and William – and a varying flock of pigs, chickens, ponies, cows and Viggo, a relatively undisciplined but very charming Danish Swedish farm dog – and his brother – Valde (icelandic sheepdog) – cute, but equally undisciplined.
Together we strut our stuff on a smallholding in Denmark, where wellies and lumberjack fleeces are the preferred attire.
Animals are fed, apple porridge is cooked, fingers are hammered, greenhouse tomatoes are cultivated and football is played on the lawn.
I am lousy cook, but make a decent sourdough bread.
If there is time left and I can stay awake – it is not entirely unthinkable that you can find me embroidering or behind the sewing machine or with a watercolor brush. I come from a craft family – and it is pure meditation for me to use my hands.
